Fender Bass Guitars
You cannot beat Fender bass guitars for sound and quality. They have been the favorite of many professional musicians for decades. Some of the notable players who have used them on stage and in recording studios include Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, and jazzman Stanley Clarke.
Fender makes basses that are versatile enough for a wide range of music such as blues, country, jazz, and rock. Its most popular model is the Precision Bass, which it released in the early 50s. Other popular models include the Jaguar Bass, Jazz Bass and Mustang Bass.
Fender bass guitars are attractive, and their playability is excellent. The thing that makes them most attractive, though, is the fat sound they produce. They provide a full, thick bottom that is felt as much as it is heard. Players pay a price for the fat sound because the instrument, particularly the Precision Bass, is rather heavy. Other models, such as the Mustang, are a lighter and easier to wear strapped on for long periods while on stage.
Since its release, the Precision Bass has consistently remained one of the hottest selling basses. Unlike many basses, the Precision only has one pickup, which is a Humbucker to reduce hum and noise from interference. The solid body is made of either alder or ash. The neck is maple with a maple or rosewood fingerboard. Over time, Fender experimented with modifications and upgrades to the Precision by adding extra frets, different pickups, an EQ, and using bodies made of walnut.
Another reason why Fender bass guitars are bestsellers is resale value. It is common for vintage models to sell for up to $5,000, and sometimes more. The odds are, though, once a player owns one, he won’t want to let it go.
